Irrigation Repair in Fountain Hills, AZ
Desert Pro Irrigation repairs sprinklers, drip lines, valves and smart timers in Fountain Hills. Hillside lots and slopes create pressure differences and runoff, so we check heads and emitters at both the top and bottom of each zone, fix leaks, and set run times that soak in instead of running downhill.
How do slopes affect irrigation in Fountain Hills?
Water drains to the low end of a zone, so the bottom heads can leak after the zone shuts off and runoff can waste water. Check valves and shorter cycles with soak time help.
Are there irrigation rebates in Fountain Hills?
We haven't verified a current irrigation rebate for Fountain Hills. Your water provider may offer one, so ask them before buying equipment.
When should I change my watering schedule in Fountain Hills?
Change it with the seasons. AMWUA recommends adjusting irrigation frequency at least four times a year, and in summer it advises avoiding watering between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (AMWUA). Our Arizona watering guide has typical frequencies.
How do monsoon storms affect irrigation in Fountain Hills?
Summer monsoon storms bring wind, debris and sudden heavy rain. Afterward, check for heads knocked out of line, clogged filters and drip lines pulled loose, and skip watering after a good soaking. UA Extension guidance suggests skipping the next interval after a half inch or more of rain (UA Cooperative Extension, PDF).
What is caliche and why does it matter?
Caliche is a hard, cement-like soil layer common in the Phoenix area. It slows drainage, so water can pool around roots or run off, and it makes digging for repairs slower. Deep, slow watering and well-placed emitters help.
